It is now six (6) years after my hose should have been complete. I have had to spent $65,000 on legal costs and appoximately $75,000 on rent as the house cannot be given an occupancy certificate. The Home Warranty Insurer estimates the cost of repair at $167,500.

Fair Trading negotiated a settlement with the insurer. Even if it was the maxmum under the policy it wouldonly be $200,000.

So the situation I am in is that after repaying money borowed for legal costs and rent I do not have enough to get the house fixed so it ca be lived in..

The fact I still do not have the house I paid for has been raised with the Minister for Fair Trading ans she was requested to inform me what steps were to be taken such that I geteh house I paid for and costs met. Her latest response states in respect tosettlement "I am pleased that you have reached agreement and can now begin to put ths distressing experience behind you".

After six (6) years Istil do not have the house I paid for and there is no acknowledgement the system does not provide consmers with protection
